New Staff

After bidding farewell to Marina Musumeci who is now running a Fiji resort, Livingston Tourism Marketing is pleased to announce the recent appointment of Sharyn Brydon to the role of General Manager – Sales & Marketing.

Sharyn arrived in Cairns in 1990 looking to change career direction from the corporate life of Hotels in Sydney.  On arriving in Cairns Sharyn took up the position of Sales & Marketing Manager for the Pacific International Hotel, a position she held for six years before taking on a move to Asia.

Moving to Malaysia with her husband in the mid ‘90s, Sharyn spent two years on a limited work visa taking on projects with the Hilton Batang Ai Long House Resort, Riverside Majestic Hotel, Damai Golf Course & Country Club as well as Sarawak State Development, researching and developing international tourism product.

Upon returning to Cairns the Brydon’s added a member to the family and Sharyn took on the part-time role of Tourism Awards Event Manager for Tourism Tropical North Queensland.  Soon snapped up by the Marketing Department of TTNQ she has been responsible for the Western Markets of North America, United Kingdom, Nordic and Europe for the past four years and most recently as the General Manager.

An active participant in the industry Sharyn was a founding member of the Hotel Sales & Marketing Association and is currently a board member of Port Douglas Daintree Tourism Ltd and sits on the committee of Tropical North Queensland ATEC.

LTM looks forward to welcoming Sharyn on board from June 25th.

A rendezvous with Ron

“I think that this is my 20th ATE and I’m looking forward to it. It is a shame that Sharyn Brydon could not make it to ATE but many of you guys will remember Carolyn Gray from her days in the UK with Quest and Tourism New Zealand. Carolyn will be assisting Sharee Verdon on the LTM stand at ATE. Carolyn will also be undertaking an ongoing role as Business Development Manager for LTM based in Perth from June 16th 2008. We are all looking forward to a very positive ATE.

We are delighted to be bringing a number of new products to ATE this year. Saltwater Luxury Apartments in Port Douglas and also the brand new and most exciting Coconut Grove Resort which will open its doors in just a few weeks time.

We are also delighted that Sharyn Brydon agreed to join us from her position as General Manager Western Markets at TTNQ. Marina was always going to be very difficult to replace such was the quality of her work and to have been able to secure such an experienced well known and highly regarded person to replace her has eased the pain a great deal.

I’ll be on the Bloomfield stand at ATE and I hope to catch up with many old friends during the week in Perth.”
